Interior Design: Commercial

West Jersey Hospital
Lobby Renovation

The concept for this hospital lobby was to give it the appearance of a hotel lobby and to minimize the use of signage. Wayfinding, through the use of a custom designed front desk, carpet patterns and ceiling configuration allows visitors to easily determine their destination. This project was awarded First Place in the Contract under 3500 SF category of the Annual ASID (American Society of Interior Designers) design competition.

Charlton Memorial Hospital
Fast Track
Emergency Services

In this division of a 20,000 square foot emergency department renovation and expansion project, the fast track area handles minor emergencies. This design was developed to provide a comfortable and welcoming environment, rather than a typical, clinical one. Patient comfort was part of the concept for the entire facility. The inspiration for this design and the finish selections came from the Arts and Crafts style.

Charlton Memorial Hospital
X-Ray

This is one of the X-Ray rooms designed to give maximum comfort for the patient as well as the staff. Using soft beige, with accents of other soothing colors, rather than stark white or exciting colors, minimizes the institutional feel. Locating as much of the instrumentation and equipment out of view adds to patient relaxation and gives the staff more room to function.

Professional Offices

Although this office space is over twelve years old, the design is timeless. The use of a warm, neutral color scheme and warm wood tones, as well as the transitional style of furniture will carry this design for many years to come. The concept of this professional was to have very nice offices without the appearances of spending too much of Client fees on the office. This is a major factor in many office designs, to look professional and successful, without the appearances of indulgence. Both the Clients and the Owner feel this design was a success.
